Dean Reigns Supreme Ahead of Carrel, Astedt and Isildur

Seeing off the biggest names in the game and landing your biggest-ever payday in the process – that is how Dean DeanoSupremo Lyall spent yesterday evening, the Scotsman taking down SCOOP event 54-H for $111,443.09 after beating Charlie Epiphany77 Carrel heads-up in the 4-max NLHE tournament.

With a prizepool of $590,000, some of the best-known online MTT crushers were running deep on day 2, Niklas ‘Lena900’ Astedt having an excellent SCOOP series - much to the chagrin of Patrick Leonard who is involved in a nail-biting team prop bet with the Swede – ‘pads1161’ managing to cash for $5k but watching as rival ‘lena900’ snared 6th spot and almost $20,000.

Also in the mix last night were Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Charlie ‘Epiphany77’ Carrel – neither man a stranger to the highest stakes and biggest stages in the game, although Blom had to content himself with a disappointing 19th place and $8662 in pocket change.

Carrel, though, would produce the biggest challenge of all to Lyall – the Englishman taking down last year’s SCOOP Main Event and doubtless dreaming of another SCOOP title on the eve of this year’s $10k buy-in biggie.

Lyall, however, had other ideas and eventually prevailed in the heads-up battle – a $111k win which has brought him within striking distance of the magic $1million barrier in online poker winnings.
