Jason Koon Wins Aria High Roller For $1million

When Jason Koon welcomed in 2018 he had amassed a hair over $10million in tournament cashes. Five months on he has increased that by $7,539,163 with $1million takedown of the Aria $100k High Roller the latest in a 2018 heater to die for!

The 32-year old from West Virginia barely had time to get over his lifetime biggest win last week in Montenegro before plunging in to the action yet again - and this weekend he has a chance to crack the $20million barrier as he sits down at the Super High Roller Bowl, with $5million up top and no-one seriously betting against a chance of Koon taking this one down as well.

Koon’s remarkable run this year saw him kick off with victory in the PCA High Roller in the Bahamas, a $421,080 payday which he followed up with a $269,500 runner-up spot in the US Poker Open $25k event.

Big cashes in the massive buy-in Super High Roller Bowl China and the partypokerMILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona set him up nicely for the Triton Series in Montenegro – and barely a day passed there without Koon involved at the deep end, including the two biggest televised cash game hands of all time.

Even the novel intricacies of Short Deck poker couldn’t halt Koon’s rise and rise, a 4th spot worth $169,936 in the opening tournament followed by yet another victory in the series finale, a monster $3,579,836 ahead of Phil Ivey.

Now just $1million or so behind the likes of Isaac Haxton and Jason Mercier in the all-time money list, Koon has a great chance to crack the top 20 this weekend, smashing the $20million milestone in the process, and we’ll bring you the best of the Super High Roller Bowl action as it develops over the next four days.
