Arne Kern Wins Milly Maker, McKeehen 3rd

Germanys Arne Kern walked off with $1,173,223 and a gold bracelet in the $1500 Millionaire Maker early this morning in Vegas after seeing off Englands Sam Razavi heads-up – with 2015 Main Event champion Joe McKeehen missing out on his 3rd WSOP bracelet when his kings were cracked deep into 3-handed play…

Seventeen players had returned for day four in their attempt to lay claim to the Milly Maker bracelet, among them two Brits, two Germans, a Brazilian and one Portuguese – the rest inevitably coming from the host country, including the overnight chip-leading duo of Chad Hahn and Sean Marshall

Manig Loeser was first to fall when his pocket queens lost the race against Ruivo’s big slick, the very first card pairing Ruivo’s king. The bust-outs came at a steady rate after that, overnight leader Hahn bubbling the final table and the two Brits left were already in celebratory mood…

Boatman’s demise began at the hands of his fellow Englishman, losing a big pot to Razavi which sent him from 3rd in chips to shortest stack - a 7th spot finish and $175,865 for the Londoner whose fanbase seemed to be somewhere in Russia for a big football event…

The pay jumps were becoming huge, Ruivo taking $230,120 for an excellent 6th spot, followed by Liberto (5th for $303,294) and Souza in 4th for $402,614 but 3-handed play would prove to be a battle royale for the really big money…

The three-handed battle was a ding-dong affair, first one then the others taking the chip lead, until McKeehen suffered a massive blow at the hands of Razavi, his pocket kings up against A8, the Englishman calling "Come on ace of diamonds in the window" – which duly hit, McKeehen soon bowing out in 3rd for $538,276.

Heads-up was another tough affair, but despite an occasional yo-yo of the chip lead it was Kern who eventually prevailed, his payday $1.12 million more than his career earnings to date. Razavi also bagged his biggest-ever cash by far, $724,756 for his excellent showing.

Final Table Results:

1 Arne Kern $1,173,223
2 Samad Razavi $724,756
3 Joe McKeehen $538,276
4 Michael Souza $402,614
5 Justin Liberto $303,294
6 Manuel Ruivo $230,120
7 Barny Boatman $175,865
8 Ralph Massey $135,383
9 Sean Marshall $104,987
