Gus Hansen Leaves Bobby's for Ivey's Room And WSOP

A change is as good as a rest, so they say, and for highstakes legend Gus Hansen that meant a break from Bobbys Room at the Bellagio and a visit to Iveys Room at the Aria instead, with the WSOP at the Rio also on this weeks agenda…

Leaving the “green felts of the Bellagio’s Bobby’s Room”, Hansen was looking for “new playgrounds” for his Vegas poker fun, and his choice of Ivey’s Room at the Aria was the most likely to offer the Great Dane the highstakes games he thrives on.

We’ll have to wait for some later updates on who he found at the tables there, however, but Ivey’s Room (the great man Phil Ivey aside of course) will be hard-pushed to find the equivalent of Doyle Brunson, Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu who all put in appearances in Hansen’s Instagram stories last week

Although the big cash games are Hansen’s happiest hunting grounds, the World Series of Poker also held some appeal for him this week – the $50k Poker Players Championship a strong, lucrative and overall tempting enough proposition to get Gus into tournament mode…

“Took a serious beating in Ivey’s Room the other day,” is how a somewhat haggard-looking Hansen started his second offering of the week, and the end result wasn’t any better for him unfortunately, his day two entry falling well short of the money after taking a double-hit at the hands of Dan Zack.

So, a bad week on the felt for Hansen and we might well see him return to his Bobby’s Room seat to turn things around again – and doubtless he’ll be sharing it with his fans and followers whatever the result.
