Selbst Has Plans To Use The WSOP To Beat Trump

Vanessa Selbst is taking a break from her poker retirement to do a good deed. She will be attending this years WSOP after all, and has announced plans to donated 50% of whatever she cashes for to groups that support US communities of the recently immigrated.

She was spurred on to this by the US government’s human rights abuses in their handling of the children of expats who entered the US illegally.

Given Donald Trump’s personal involvement in instigating these abuses, it was unsurprising that apologists for the president were quick to suggest that giving money to good causes was a sign of being a bad person. Nationalists gonna nationalist, I guess.

They clearly have not been notified that even the vulgarian in Chief has back tracked from his own policy in record time. Although, as usual rather than accept responsibility, he has attempted to shift blame to previous administrations.

Certainly the reactions from those who actually matter to the poker community were largely positive with Kitty Kuo and Ryan LaPlante jumping in to add their support.

Either way Selbst’s return to the ring means a comeback for photos of her pet dogs and a revival in jokes at the expense of Doug Polk’s haircut.
