For Ivey, probably number one on the fans’ wishlist to take down a Main Event gold bracelet, it was an unnecessary exit – a massive check-overbet all-in on the river against Brian Altman, who found a call with top two against Ivey’s bluff to send the superstar spinning out of the tournament, Altman finishing the day near the top of the chip counts…

 

 

Patrik Antonius was exhausted after his run in the Main, the cards not quite falling well enough for the Finnish legend as he explained on his Instagram account…

 

 

The only player standing in the way of a new champion being crowned is 2009 victor Joe Cada, happily posing with fans as he fought his way into day 5, albeit rather short-stacked…
