Big One For One Drop Day 1 Highlights

It may well be Rick Salomon sitting atop the leaderboard after the opening day of the $1million buy-in Big One for One Drop, but it is Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu sitting right behind him which has grabbed the attention on an otherwise surprisingly ordinary day in the life of the worlds richest and best poker players…

Salomon, however, won’t be the least bit phased at the exalted company he is keeping, $5.8milion of his $6.4million in tournament winnings coming from two previous editions of the charity-focused super high roller event…

However, some amazing players won’t be here for day two, Isaac Haxton, Jake Schindler and Bryn Kenney all blowing their $1milion on day one…

…and we’ll just have to wait and see which faces turn up to ‘replace’ them today, with Phil Hellmuth, Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan among those the fans are desperate to see…

Those unlikely to be among them are any of the Macau nosebleed legends, or the man who started the One drop Foundation Guy Laliberte, the reasons unknown for their non-participation – but the rumour-mill on the 2+2 forum providing a possible answer…
