Phil Galfond Seeks Player Input on Table Caps for Run It Once

After a brief respite from development of his soon to be launched Run It Once poker site that included winning $567,788 and his third WSOP gold bracelet last month in $10K PLO8, Phil Galfond is back to working on RIO and he is asking players for feedback on some important decisions.

In another wordy blog post - almost two years since Galfond first told the poker community everything that a poker site should be - the three-time WSOP champ is allowing players to vote on issues such as table caps and the designs and colors of the table backgrounds and playing cards. Phil includes pros and cons for a table cap of either four or six, but is open to suggestions from those who intend to play on the site.

Early results of the poll lean toward a 6-table cap by a 3-2 margin, with one Twitter follower rightly pointing out that recreational players who may be more inclined to voting for a 4-table cap may not be in abundance among the voting public.

However, yet another of Phil's social media followers chimed in with a possible solution to the dilemma.

Galfond and his Run It Once team are on a quest to launch a poker room that aims to be fair to recs and regs alike. Past missteps by PokerStars indicates that this may be a fine time for a player who has earned the respect and admiration that Galfond has to launch a new poker site. Unfortunately, the current climate of the online poker industry that includes lack of regulation in key regions like the US may prove otherwise.
