Ivan Leow Wins the Triton Poker Super High Roller in Sochi for $1,134,000

If there is one word that can used to describe the new breed of super high rollers it is resilience – and Malaysias Ivan Leow proved that last night, bouncing back from bubbling the $50k High Roller in Sochi to take down the $100k Super version for a massive $1,134,000 payday…

It took the 36-year old two bullets to get himself in a position to win among the 29 entries at the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS in Russia, the SHR, a Triton Poker event boasting over $2.6million in prizemoney – Leow only 2 weeks removed from another huge win at the Triton Jeju stop in South Korea when he topped the field in the Short Deck for $1,079, 367.

Playing with a full deck in Sochi seemed to make no difference to the Malaysian pro, taking out German high-roller superstar Dietrich Fast on the bubble, having already disposed of Phil Ivey to set the final table…

Leow also ended the challenge of German high roller Manig Loeser, knocking him out in 4th spot, and when another rising star of the Asian game, Wai Leong Chan, fell in 3rd it was Leow against the relatively unknown Abraham Passet, the German now living in the UK and hitting his biggest payday to date with his $740,880 runner-up spot after an hour long heads-up battle.

Final table results

1 Ivan Leow $1,134,000
2 Abraham Passet $740,880
3 Wai Leong Chan $472,500
4 Manig Loeser $283,500
