Elio Fox Wins 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $50K SHR For $500,000

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open has been putting on a good post-WSOP show. The $50,000 buy-in high-roller event managed to attract 25 players. As a result the whole buffalo in contention was $1,225,000 once the vultures had skimmed their 2%.

Despite the small field the event needed extra day to decide its final victor with three players still in at close of Day 1. Chris Hunichen and Almedin Imsirovic having booked their wins at $100k for 5th and $130k for 4th respectively.

Still in it to chase the half-mill up top on Day 2 were: high-roller regular Dan Shak; relative unknown Giuseppe Iadisernia; and two time bracelet winner Elio Fox, hot off winning his second of those bracelets in the WSOP $10k Turbo, as well as the Gardens Poker Festival $25k last month.

Iadisernia was the short stack on Day 2 and barely stood a chance. He took the rail in 3rd when his K-T failed to outdraw Shak’s A-7. This left the two pros heads up with almost even stacks.

Heads up was pretty brisk and it didn’t take long for Shak to make the mistake of check-raising all in on a K-K-J-T board with J-3 in his hand. Fox snapped him off with A-Q in the hole and the turn came blankety-blank.

Fox earns $500,000 for his win, and Shak took $305,000.

Final table results:

1 Elio Fox $500,000
2 Dan Shak $305,000
3 Giuseppe Iadisernia $190,000
4 Almedin Imsirovic $130,000
5 Christopher Hunichen $100,000
