PokerStars Offer High Roller Jungleman Rake Free Game

Rake, juice, vigorish – whatever you want to call it, the money taken by the cardroom or casino is the bane of a poker players life – unless you are Dan Jungleman Cates that is!

It seems that those who need it least get the most, and Jungleman - an absolute crusher of the game whether it be online, live tournaments or the biggest cash games in the world – took up the kind offer from PokerStars to skip on the $300 rake, because every penny counts when you’re playing $10k tournaments!

PokerStars and rake have unfortunately almost become synonymous thanks to the Daniel Negreanu ‘more rake is better’ saga, a tale borne of the PS decision to cut the SuperNova and SuperNova Elite players off mid-race a couple of years back.

Phil Galfond, whose Run It Once site is expected to open for trials soon, has also been getting in on the rake issue recently, a thoughtful post on his blog debating the pros and cons of the money nobody wants to pay!

And Jungleman Dan? Well, he turned his $10k instead of $10,300 buy-in into a cool $30,000 with a 9th spot finish, a few places behind Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom (4th for $75k) and Latvian winner ‘Colisea’ who scooped the title and $225,000.
