Serda ultimately triumphed in highly esteemed company on a final table that included star names such as Sorel Mizzi, Upeshka De Silva and Ema Zajmovic. Zajmovic came painfully close to achieving her second WPT event after last year becoming the first woman ever to win one.

Speaking after his victory, Serda said

“It’s great; it feels a lot better than previous wins. I’m not really sure why it feels like this but I worked for it more this time around.”

This latest success brings Serda’s live tournament winnings total to almost $1.75 million. $750,000 of that came from finishing runner up to Will Kassouf in the $10,300 buy in 2016 EPT High roller in Prague.

Maybe now Serda will retreat to his self-declared status as a retired professional poker player and continue with his passion for blockchain technology and cryptocurrency investments.
