Global Poker's 'QuietLion' Tamed as December Giveaways Begin

A trip to Vegas to represent Global Poker at a WSOPC event at Planet Hollywood after winning a $5K prize package resulted in a gallant effort into Day 2 by Richard QuietLion Brodie, but his pocket jacks fell victim to big slick, ending his bid to cash in the Main Event.

Brodie earned the right to compete in the WSOPC event after winning the Global Poker Eagle Cup Tournament of Champions in October. Travel and hotel expenses were shouldered by Global Poker, as was the tournament buy-in and rebuy.

It looked for a while as though Brodie would follow the lead of other Global Poker prize package winners and finish in the money. Flopping trips against two pair resulted in winning a healthy pot, then he managed to scoop another and bagged 108,000 chips after Day 1.

However, there would be no roar from the QuietLion on Day 2. Finishing in 90th place, Brodie missed a payday by 26 places, nonetheless earning praise from Global Poker for a game well played.

Gear Up for Festive Specials

With November in the rear view mirror and December now upon us, it's time for Global Poker to make good on the festive promotions that were promised last month. And make good they will, with Christmas gifts that include special freerolls, discounts for players who purchase Gold Coin packages, some nifty limited-edition avatars, and more bonuses fit for the yuletide season.

As always, No Limit and Fixed Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and No Limit Crazy Pineapple games are running 24/7 at Global Poker. The stake levels run the gamut from micro to high, with action available at ring game tables, Sit & Gos, and multi-table tournaments.

Speaking of MTTs, Global Poker is hosting special Gold Coin and $weeps Cash tournaments starting December 19. A wide variety of different types of tournaments are on the schedule, with millions in Gold Coins and over SC$170,000 in real cash prizes up for grabs.
