Akin Tuna Takes Down EPT Prague High Roller for €125,330

He may not be a household name in poker circles, but there was certainly nothing fishy about Akin Tunas scoop of the €10,300 High Roller at the PokerStars EPT Prague stop, the Turkish pro netting a €125,330 ($142,365) payday after seeing off some tough opposition along the way.

Tuna had already come close twice in previous events, including a runner-up spot in the 2016 UKIPT Dublin High Roller, losing out to Sam Panzica for the title but landing his biggest-ever payday of €290,000 ($323,134).

This time round it was a final table including Canadian Daniel Dvoress, Belgium’s Davidi Kitai and fellow Turk Orpen Kisacikoglu who were trying to deny him victory after the smallish field of 38 had been whittled down to the six money spots.

Tuna dealt heavy blows to both Kitai and Dvoress to secure a heads-up battle against Bulgaria’s Ognyan Dimov, pretty much sealing the deal when his trips turned into quads on the turn against Dimov’s flopped straight.

Final results

1 Akin Tuna €125,330
2 Ognyan Dimov €86,620
3 Davidi Kitai €55,290
4 Daniel Dvoress €42,390
5 Orpen Kisacikoglu €33,170
6 Thomas Boivin €25,800
