Dylan Linde wins WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $1,631,468

The World Poker Tour made a bit of history this week as Dylan Linde got his name on the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic trophy, and a cheque for $1,631,468, which includes a $15,000 entry into the season-ending Baccarat Crystal Tournament of Champions.

With a delightful 1001 entries, the tournament became the largest-ever $10k event in WPT history, and it took 5 full days to whittle that massive pack down to just one, the likes of Joe Hachem, Joe McKeehen and Antonio Esfandiari making the money – a $9.7million prizepool - but falling short of final table appearances.

Lisa Hamilton was the sole woman in the hunt for the title, but she fell in 5th when a race flopped dead against her, and Ping Liu hit the rails in 4th with a similar story. When Andrew Lichtenberger was toppled in 3rd, it was Linde against Milos Skrbic heads-up for the trophy.

With the blinds rising, Skrbic shoved his pocket fives but ran up against pocket jacks, and that’s all she wrote – Linde the champion for the biggest payday of his career.

Final results

1 Dylan Linde $1,631,468
2 Milos Skrbic $1,087,603
3 Andrew Lichtenberger $802,973
4 Ping Liu $599,147
5 Lisa Hamilton $451,880
6 Barry Hutter $344,529
