Gus Hansen Returns to High Stakes Action in Bobby’s Room

Gus Hansen, one of the most recognisable poker players on the planet, has been back in action over the Christmas period. The Danish star joined exalted company in the famous Bobbys Room at the Bellagio Casino on Thursday 27th December. That is barely enough time to let your dinner settle from Christmas day!

Joining him was well known live pro Scott Seiver, a man with more than $23 million worth of tournament winnings. Seiver is also a regular at Bobby’s Room.

Aaron Katz was next up. Not a lot is known about the American businessman/high-stakes mixed game specialist, but he claims to be a poker player who made smart investments rather than degening his business earning up against the best poker players in the world.

Next was Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov - possibly the best online cash player in the world right now. Even with only three live tournament cashes to his name he still has close to $3 million in winnings.

Finally Dan “Jungleman” Cates, one of the original high-stakes heads-up crushers from the poker boom of 15 years ago. Cates made his name by accepting the Durrrr Challenge and ended up scaring his opponent away and left him bleating excuses about not being able to continue to 50,000 hand wager at 3-1 odds in Cates’s favour.

Hansen is no doubt as fearless a player as he was back in the day, regardless of dumping around $20 million online playing cash games against the best. It remains to be seen if he will ever return to regular live tournament action as he promised recently.
