Rainer Kempe Takes Down PCA Single Day $50k High Roller for $908,100

Germanys Rainer Kempe took down the $50k Single Day High Roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, scooping $908,100 after defeating Alex Foxen heads-up.

By: Andrew Burnett

Kempe had already taken 4th spot in the $25k HR, supposedly a single-day event but one in which the heads-up finale between David Peters and Sean Winters had to be put back a few days after the Atlantis Resort’s poker room closed for the night!

No such problems in the $50k, the 64 entries chasing over $3million in prizemoney and managing to get play done in one day this time, nine players in the money – a who’s who of the High Roller circuit.

One notable exception was 8th place finisher Bill Perkins, the billionaire philanthropist enjoying himself in the Bahamas and handing out bonus prizes like confetti

While his better half Kristen Bicknell was running deep in the PSPC, Alex Foxen was proving yet again he belongs at the highest levels of the game, battling through to meet Kempe for the title.

Kempe, however, seemed destined to lift the trophy having battled back from 4BB as others around him fell. The final hand saw his picket 4’s hold up against Foxen’s AQ and the German took his week’s earnings over the $1million mark.

The $100k single-day SHR kicks off today and we’ll have a roundup of the action for you tomorrow morning.
