Sam Greenwood’s Run-Good Scoops $1,775,460 in PCA $100k SHR

Sam Greenwood landed yet another big title yesterday when he decimated the remnants of the $100k Super High Roller field at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure to win $1,775,460

The Canadian, one of three poker-playing brothers (who incidentally all cashed in the PSPC earlier this week) scored his sixth 7-figure career payday when he downed Denmark’s Henrick Hecklen heads-up.

He admitted afterwards that the poker gods were on his side during the final table, telling PokerNews’ Joe Stapleton afterwards: “I think most players, if they had my cards today, would have won."

Five players had returned for day three of the tournament, all guaranteed at least $485k, and it was ‘Big Huni’ Chris Hunichen who would exit first, a horrible cooler seeing his big slick running into Greenwood’s aces and his few remaining chips went west shortly afterwards.

English businessman Talal Shakerchi was next up on Greenwood’s chopping block, running into pocket queens and then Jesus Cortes’ flopped set was met by… a flopped straight!

There seemed to be no denying the Canadian highroller and heads-up was described as a ‘mere formality’ with Greenwood holding 90%+ of the chips and Hecklen unable to make any headway against a man on fire.

Final results

1 Sam Greenwood $1,775,460
2 Henrik Hecklen $1,284,260
3 Jesus Cortes $828,560
4 Chris Hunichen $627,340
5 Talal Shakerchi $485,300
6 Igor Kurganov $378,760
7 Steffen Sontheimer $301,820
8 Stephen Chidwick $236,720
