Americas Cardroom Sunday GTD Tournaments Produce Big Winners

The top guaranteed tournaments played at Americas Cardroom on Sunday, January 27 saw the winners collect big prize money that included a $52,200 score in the $200,000 GTD event.

The four biggest tournaments in yesterday's action each went beyond their listed guarantees. Those tournaments were set to payout a combined $525,000 in prize money, but instead paid out more than $654,000.

Here's a recap of the biggest tournaments, with the top 5 finishers of each:

$200K GTD

"MrMaximize" overcame a field of 232 entrants in the $1,000 + $50 buy-in $200,00 GTD to maximize his ROI. The $232,000 prize pool resulted in first place prize money of $52,200.

Paydays went to the top 36 players, the least of which was $1,740. Honorable mention goes to "SanityWaterline" for finishing 5th for $13,920 on top of grabbing the title in the $125,000 Sunday Special for $26K.

$150K GTD

The prize money for the $150,000 GTD Sunday Warm Up 8-Max was easily surpassed when 2,013 entrants showed up. At $100 + $9 a piece, the prize pool was a healthy $210,300. "B-Ho" earned the title and $32,912.55 after disposing of "Greenboss1."

$125K GTD

The Sunday Special with $125,000 GTD saw 712 entrants take to the virtual felt with 81 finishing in the money. The $200 + $15 entry fee created $142,400 to play for. "SanityWaterline" ($26,771.20) took the lion's share of prize money, the second final table of the day for the MTT grinder.

$50K GTD

The $50,000 GTD High Roller attracted 139 entrants at $500 + $30 a pop. The top 27 divvied the prize money of $69,500 with "amirtelpatel" holding off "LLL99" to win $15,985.
