Bryn Kenney Takes Down US Poker Open Event #7 for $450,000

Bryn Kenney has won the $25,000 buy-in NL at the US Poker Open for $450K. The American ploughed through the 60-man field in short time and incredibly only took an hour to finish off his final table rivals.

With only three events remaining Kenney is still lagging behind Stephen Chidwick, Sean Winter and Cary Katz on the points leaderboard but he remains within reach if a late run can come together.

Only last month Kenney won the Aussie Millions Main Event and feels he is ready to forget a terrible 2018.

“This feels good. Last year was the only losing year I’ve ever had in my poker career and I felt as though I needed to follow it up with a home run year like I did in 2017.”

The final table action was a bit of a blur with Kenny knocking out Nick Petrangelo only three hands in after calling off half his stack with K8 to see he was up against J6s blind vs blind.

Only a few hands later Keith Tilston and Nick Schulman were next to leave, and then Kenney crippled Ben Yu with 83 making a deceptive two pair and getting paid with big bets on both the turn and river. Yu had started the final table as a huge chip leader and was eliminated a couple of hands later.

Into the heads-up stage Kenney had a lead of more than 10-to-1 up against Jake Schindler and he only took a grand total of six more hands to seal the deal, taking his total career winnings past the $27 million mark.

Final results

1 Bryn Kenney $450,000
2 Jake Schindler $300,000
3 Ben Yu $210,000
4 Keith Tilston $150,000
5 Nick Schulman $120,000
6 Nick Petrangelo $90,000
