Rainer Kempe Wins LAPC $25k High Roller For $270,905

Germanys Rainer Kempe fought off a small but tough field to take down the LA Poker Classic High Roller title, a $270,905 payday that brings him ever-closer to the magic $20million lifetime milestone, and leapfrogged him over Christoph Vogelsang into Germanys number two all-time spot.

With many of his highstakes tournament peers off on a Triton Jeju adventure in South Korea, the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl winner had his girlfriend, fellow pro and well-known poker commentator Maria Ho by his side in the winner’s pic, with another German high-roller, Manig Loeser, providing support.

The 27 entries had produced a $674,865 prizepool, and only four lucky souls would be sharing that money, and it would be Kristen Bicknell who would bubble the cash when she lost a race to Kempe while short-stacked…

When Ali Imsirovic and Jeremy Ausmus fell in 4th and 3rd respectively, it all came down to a battle between Kempe and Joshua Gordon heads-up, the German prevailing to be last-person standing – quite a turnaround from being first to bust in the $10k WPT LAPC Championship last weekend

Final results

1 Rainer Kempe $270,905
2 Joshua Gordon $180,600
3 Jeremy Ausmus $127,320
4 Ali Imsirovic $96,040
