Maria Ho Wins LAPC $25k High Roller For $276,690

A heads-up battle between the queens of poker Maria Ho and Kristen Bicknell decided the $25k High Roller at the LA Poker Classic in the early hours of this morning – and it proved to be a magical birthday present for Maria Ho as she scooped the $276,690 first prize!

When the clock struck midnight, the popular pro and commentator turned 36 years old, by which time she had outlasted most of the 28 player field – one that included both her own boyfriend ‘Rainer Kempe, and Bicknell’s beau, Alex Foxen.

Other big names who were vying for the High Roller title included Ali Ismirovic, Manig Loeser, Jake Schindler and Chris ‘Big Huni’ Hunichen, five paid spots to be fought over and a $500 rake-free saving already in the bag, designed to encourage the players to turn up for the start!

The victory wasn’t Ho’s biggest win, but it did take her over the $3million live tournament earnings milestone – and as she stated later it was her first birthday win despite having played many WPT events on the big day.

Add it to partner Kempe’s $25k HR win from a couple of days ago for an almost identical payday and it’s been quite some week for the couple.

Final results

1 Maria Ho $276,690
2 Kristen Bicknell $180,070
