Roll Out of High Five Series at Americas Cardroom Proves a Big Hit

Online pokers 420-friendly poker festival started off with a bang at Americas Cardroom when all five events on the first day of the High Five Series schedule surpassed their guarantees.

It was "ChristinePoker" who smoked the competition in Event #2, an $80,000 guaranteed 8-Max with a $530 buy-in and unlimited re-entry. A total of 215 entrants took the prize pool higher - to $107,500 - resulting in first place prize money of $23,112.50.

Payouts went to the top 27 players with the three best all claiming five-figure scores. Here they are:

Another big event on the High Five schedule was the $100,000 GTD 6-Max with a $1,050 buy-in. Listed as Event #3, the tournament attracted 146 entrants for a $146,000 prize pool.

Topping the field for a $33,580 payday was Troy "GusorConstantine" Quenneville. The Canadian got past "FakeAZN" ($23,360) in heads-up play for the title.

Five more events are on the High Five schedule today, as well as each day thru the rest of the series that runs from April 17-21. Highlighting the festival is the $420,000 GTD Main Event on Easter Sunday. The buy-in is $420 + $30, with mega satellites running now at Americas Cardroom.
