Omaha Series, Big Game and PKO Series Coming to partypoker

The good folks at partypoker released their latest newsletter detailing the latest happenings at the player-friendly poker room and some exciting events are on the agenda.

By: Charles Rettmuller

There's a $2 million GTD Omaha Series that kicks off this Sunday, April 28 and will run thru the following Sunday, May 5. That's eight days of Omaha featuring 160 tournaments in a wide range of formats with buy-ins from $11 to $530.

Omaha has never been more popular and odds are that this inaugural festival will be followed by many more in the future at partypoker. Bookending the Omaha Series on both Sundays are two $530 buy-in High Rollers, all featuring a $50,000 guarantee.

Big Game

Also on Sunday, April 28 is the Big Game, partypoker's flagship monthly tournament. A $1 million prize pool is up for grabs for players who either buy-in for $5,200 or win a seat via tons of available satellites starting as low as $1.10. Keep in mind that a new 'Phased' format featuring $530 buy-in 'Phase 1' qualifiers has been implemented for the Big Game and the Phase 1 events are held nightly at 19:00 and 21:00 BST.

Next month will see a new KO series run from May 12-26 with $30 million GTD. The Progressive Knockout format is a big hit at partypoker, especially since there's no rake on the bounty portion of the buy-in.

PP LIVE Dollars

A special edition $10 buy-in PP LIVE SPINS game is getting some heavy play at partypoker while it lasts. All of the prizes save for the lowest 2x multiplier are paid out in PP LIVE dollars, with the top prize fixed at 10,000 PPL.

That's enough to pay the entry fee to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Main Event in Montreal next month that promises $5 million in guaranteed prize money. The tour stop in Canada marks the second leg of Season 3.

Those PP LIVE dollars will come in handy if you use them to buy-in to the Grand Prix Germany Main Event at King's Resort in Rozvadov next month. Win the tournament - and as long as you entered with PP LIVE dollars or funds from your partypoker account - and a free seat to the MILLIONS Europe 2019 is yours.

Bloggers Delight

Now we shift from upcoming events to talk about poker that's already been played. Some interesting blog posts from Team partypoker that include high stakes hand analysis from Kristen Bicknell, Joni Jouhkimainen's adventures in Tallinn and Barcelona, and partypoker president Mike Sexton's near-miss of a WSOP bracelet in PLO. The stories all make for excellent reading.

He may not have a blog post, but Weijie "Jervi" Zheng does have an Irish Open Main Event title and €300,000 in prize money. He topped 1,807 entries for the championship on April 22, only the fourth live cash of his career - and by far the largest.
