Krzysztof Magott Takes Down EPT Monte Carlo PLO High Roller for €113,370

Thirteen proved to be a lucky number for Polish pro Krzysztof Magott, taking down the PokerStars EPT €5,200 Single Day High Roller for his first title win in thirteen final table appearances – and a €113,370 ($126,861) payday to go with the trophy!

The final pair of players left standing after a gruelling thirteen (again!) hour battle yesterday had to return today to decide the winner at the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco, Frenchman Alexandre Amiel the opposition for Magott.

Prior to today’s dramatic denouement, the final table had a heavy far eastern presence, with Malaysian duo Ivan Leow and Wai Leong Chan, alongside Hong Kong’s Anson Tsang taking 3rd, 4th and 5th spots respectively.

The ‘lucky thirteen’ almost appeared again, but Magott ended the heads-up battle one hand short of that when Amiel rivered a better two pair than Magott, only to find his opponent had completed a wheel draw.

"My main game is cash PLO," Magott explained to the live reporting team from PokerNews following his win. He added: “I think now I'm going to go work a little bit on my game and then play SCOOP. I mean, first I'm going to chill. Then work on my game and SCOOP!"

1 Krzysztof Magott € 113,370
2 Alexandre Amiel € 80,570
3 Ivan Leow € 52,770
4 Wai Leong Chan € 40,610
5 Anson Tsang € 32,160
6 Sergey Verkhoturov € 25,150
