Bryn Kenney Takes Down The Triton Main Event For $2.7million

Only four events in to the Triton Poker SHR series and Bryn Kenney has already bagged two of them, the New Yorker adding the HKD $1 million (($127k) buy-in Main Event and $2.7million to the $1.4million, 6-handed title he won a few days ago…

There was little to choose between the nine who returned to play out the final day at the Maestral Casino in Montenegro, huge names in the game such as Triton ambassador Jason Koon and Erik Seidel mixed with elite amateurs and $million pros like Paul Phua and Chi Hang ‘Danny’ Tang.

With a HKD 70.5 million ($8.98 million) prizepool to be shared out, the action proved to be just as fast and, in some cases, as brutally painful as yesterday’s – Belarussian beast Mikita Badziakouski quickly shortening the odds of winning…

It wasn’t to be for the hardest name to spell in poker, however, as he fell to a double blow from Kenney – a big bluff followed by a bustout…

With Paul Phua and Sam Greenwood already gone, that left Peter Jetten and Danny Tang to see if they could halt Kenney’s double victory, but when the Canadian’s short-stack fell to Kenney in bit of a race, it looked unlikely.

Tang battled bravely but Kenney has been in a class of his own this week and would not be denied his 2nd trophy, stating afterwards: “I just really was in the zone, played very well, crushed the table, had a few things go my way, it’s always the best.”

Final results

1 Bryn Kenney $2,713,876
2 Danny Tang $1,796,509
3 Peter Jetten $1,223,155
4 Mikita Badziakouski $925,011
5 Sam Greenwood $719,878
6 Paul Phua $560,613
7 Erik Seidel $440,846
8 Matthias Eibinger $341,464
9 Jason Koon $261,195

With the HKD $1million Short Deck Main Event already underway, it won’t be long before we see Kenney have a tilt at his 3rd, but there are plenty of other poker heroes out there waiting for their chance too!
