Henrik Hecklen Wins Triton HKD250k NLHE Turbo For $434,500

The Triton Montenegro festival, backed up by partypoker LIVE following their recent deal, has seen non-stop action at the Maestral Casino and Resort on the shores of Sveti Stefan.

The addition of the tournament dubbed ‘The Tim Adams Invitational’ at the behest of the Canadian highroller saw 37 entries (15 of those re-entries) forking out a $32,000 buy-in and producing a prize pool of HK$8.972 million.

Asian players were running deep over in the Short Deck ME, but here the best effort would be a bubble-boy finish for Malaysia’s Jun Wah Yap – an excellent showing but no reward.

As befitted such an event, there were a trio of Canadians in the mix and the money, Mike Watson finishing 5th for HK$850,000 ($108,000) and Dvoress following soon afterwards in 4th spot for $134,000.

The Triton Jeju champion Tim Adams himself managed a very decent 3rd place, but that was the last of the Maple Leaf fliers, leaving Alex Foxen and Hecklen to fight it out for top honours.

Hecklen started ahead and didn’t relinquish his lead, a final desperate short-stack shove from Foxen running into Hecklen’s big slick and the title was heading to Denmark.

Final results

1 Henrik Hecklen $434,500
2 Alex Foxen $280,000
3 Timothy Adams $186,000
4 Daniel Dvoress $134,000
5 Mike Watson $108,000
