New York’s Hojnoski12 Bags Global Poker Rattlesnake Open Major

The Rattlesnake Open on Global Poker took centre stage yesterday, the Teaser and Scrimmage stepping aside to make way for the hugely-popular tournament series on the USAs number one poker site

The SC$50k guaranteed Rattlesnake 08-H took pride of place instead of the Sunday Scrimmage and drew in the Global Poker faithful as well as many new faces – a total of 270 runners and SC$54,000 up for grabs…

With 45 of those players cashing, a min cash worth a pleasant Sunday SC$324.00, they battled down to a final nine chasing the all-important title, with two spots in the Tournament of Champions also at stake…

There was a Canadian cousin on a deep run, British Columbia’s nodoogz outlasting DatBoyDstyles from Texas and Florida’s SexyI3ecksy, but falling in 7th place – the SC$1,836.00 payout softening the blow somewhat. When California’s Whalenutz hit the rails in 6th for SC$2,376.00, the tension was ramping up just nicely…

A Rattlesnake Open II title was uppermost in the minds, but the Tournament of Champions spots could be considered almost equally important – where winners and runner-up finishers will clash at the end of the series to decide who gets the $5000 live tournament package.

In poker, however, things can change in a heartbeat, as Louisiana’s Wookmoves and the Massachussetts Milkman both found out – departing in 5th and 4th respectively, but with very healthy paydays in their back pockets

Down to the final three and it would be Hifilorau from North Carolina missing out on the ToC tickets. But an excellent run and SC$5,940.00 is something to be proud of, and with Global Poker’s Rattlesnake series running until the 26th May there will be plenty more chances to bag a title.

Heads-up, Allinnow from Texas battled Hojnoski12 out of New York and it came down to the finest of margins - Hojnoski12 taking the title and SC$10,422 when his four bested Allinnow’s  three at the queen’s full showdown

1 Hojnoski12 SC$10,422.00
2 Allinnow  SC$7,830.00
3 Hifilorau  SC$5,940.00
4 The Milkman SC$4,455.00
5 WookMoves  SC$3,078.00
6 Whalenutz  SC$2,376.00
7 Nodoogz  SC$1,836.00
8 SexyI3ecksy  SC$1,296.00
9 DatBoyDstyles SC$972.00

Among the packed Rattlesnake schedule there was also the replacement tournament for the Sunday Teaser, this one also matching the usual $25k guarantee, with a little extra on offer as 264 entries exceeded expectations.

Nobody managed a double final table appearance this week – not unexpected given the flagship events attracted the best of the Global Poker regulars.

When Jazzhands from Nevada’s departed in 9th spot, you can easily picture the little dance he managed for his SC$475.20 payday, and there would be plenty more celebrations as the Rattlesnake crew handed out four-figure prizes to the top six.

That 6th spot would go to Virginia’s Conebudz and he was followed to the rail by Ajy859 and Dreamcrushaa, leaving just three to fight for the two Tournament of Champions places and over SC$10k in prizemoney.

There could be only one atop the podium, however, and the title along with SC$5,095.20 went to Magisterus from Oklahoma – an excellent result ahead of ItsDefRigged and Junior168.

1 Magisterus  SC$5,095.20
2 ItsDefRigged  SC$3,828.00
3 Junior168  SC$2,904.00
4 Dreamcrushaa  SC$2,178.00
5 Ajy859  SC$1,504.80
6 Conebudz  SC$1,161.60
7 Twindad00  SC$897.60
8 Justagrill  SC$633.60
9 Jazzhands  SC$475.20

The $1million guaranteed Rattlesnake Open runs for the next two weeks and if you want to get yourself in the money, head to Global Poker and…good luck at the tables!
