Phil Hellmuth was the MC as 194 players turned out to honour the former Full Tilt pro and Poker after Dark star and WSOP bracelet winner, with a comedy night hosted by Joe Stapleton also arranged to honour one of poker’s best-loved players.

The money raised from the $200 rake-free NLHE tournament was split equally among the players and The Gavin Smith Trust, set up to help Smith’s two young boys after Gavin passed away at home in Canada at the age of 50.

Among those who played were Todd Brunson, Layne Flack, Jason Somerville, Jeff Madsen and Erick Lindgren, but the winner was Matt Stout in what seems to have been an amazing celebration of Smith’s life as well as benefiting a great cause.
