Luis Zedan Lands First WSOP Gold Bracelet and $236,673 in $1k PLO

If you are going to win your first big tournament, you might as well do it in style – and Floridas Luis Zedan did just that with a takedown of the $1k PLO bracelet event, worth a cool $236,673...

By: Andrew Burnett

Zedan had started as one of 1526 runners chasing a share of the $1,374,300 prizepool, but only five returned for the final table, with an extra day owing to the massive increase in interest from last year’s version.

Luis Zedan led that famous five by quite some margin coming into today’s play, and watched as the first of the Ryan’s, Ryan Goindoo, fell to Thida Lin and then himself took out Ryan Robinson.

Sam Razavi was next to fall, in 3rd spot, when Zedan again hit a nice flop and turn full house combo, leaving Lin as the only obstacle between him and WSOP glory.

When the turn gave Thida Lin two pair heads-up, her shove was insta-called by Zedan, shouting “Nuts!” as he tabled his flopped straight. The board bricked and Zedan had  just won gold and his biggest-ever cash by some $224k.
