Big Battles in the partypoker Sunday Highrollers

The partypoker Sunday tables were full yesterday as players chased massive guarantees in the hugely-popular POK schedule – the numbers reflecting the rake-free bounty element introduced by the site a couple of months ago…

Kicking off with the $320 buy-in, $150k GTD Sunday Gladiator, there was a real mix of nationalities in at the deep end – the extra $45k or so in the prizepool making it a 100-fold ROI for the eventual winner.

Brazil’s fAYoGeTnaD came through the field of 635 entries to scoop more than $31k, the $13,761 almost equal ‘chop’ of first and second spots topped up by an impressive $18,451 in Bounty payments.

There was more Brazilian success when the stakes were raised to the $530 buy-in Sunday High Roller Bounty Hunter, the $100k guarantee seeing an extra $30k in the kitty when 255 players showed up.

MOTHERSMATTERS has a habit of running deep in the partypoker high rollers and yesterday saw yet another top 10 finish for the Swede.

As it transpired, the top three would all be taking home four-figure payouts, with Canadian KERRMODE landing $3k in bounties to add to a $7k+ plus regular payout in 3rd.

The UK’s georgeza was looking to stop another victory for Brazil, but had to settle for second place and a combined $14,170 payout after losing out to the splendidly-named Macnifico007 – the Brazilian adding $18,526 in bounties to the $10,277 first place cash.

Up at the $2050 buy-in Sunday High Roller Gladiator there were 73 runners chasing the $150k guarantee and there were some very familiar names as the tournament played down to it’s finale.

Canada’s KERRMODE topped an excellent day off with a 10th place finish, with countryman WWWpartyCOM bagging 7th spot and more than $5500.

The really big money was seen in the top 3 places, however, as the bounties mounted up – Chelsea72 having another fine day to add $10k in head-hunting to his $10k+ regular cash.

Heads-up was a fight between Malta’s z-boooo and Russian adventurer PhileasFogg, the latter prevailing to add some $22,091 in bounty money to an already healthy $15,725 from the regular prizepool.

The $1050 buy-in Sunday HR Terminator saw another good turnout, 108 entries and an extra $10k to play for over the $100k guarantee.

partypoker’s Team Online pro Jeff Gross gave this one a great run, his 9th place finish worth $1451 – a decent score considering he didn’t take any scalps, and a chance to remind players that a big name-change – and with it big prizes – is upon us…

Brazil’s somar181 was having an excellent day and added $8600 to the bankroll ahead of the well-known duo of CrazyLissy and Tartaruga13.

It was Croatian pro SouhftfW who would go on to take down the Terminator title yesterday, a hugely impressive Bounty hunt of $19,500 topping up a $10k score.

That’s it for another Sunday at the partypoker highroller PKO tables. Join us again next Monday for a roundup of the biggest and best weekend scores from the red diamond site.
