Phil Hellmuth Leaves WSOP Early

While the worlds best are battling it out at the Rio for bracelets, $million dreams and stardom, there is one pro who has forsaken a chunk of the WSOP to live the high life in far-off Peru – 15-time bracelet winner Phil Baller Hellmuth!

Sweaty jungle treks and high-altitude climbs were the order of the day for most who made their way to the near-mythical city of Machu Picchu, but Phil took an alternative – gold-plated – route before heading to the historical Incan citadel…

Missing out on his ritual WSOP bracelet hunt, Phil has been living it up in the way only a famous millionaire can in the Peruvian Andes, although he apparently did make the 8-hour journey by foot

Hellmuth wasn’t alone on his Peruvian wanderings of course, Hollywood icon Rob Lowe and all-round business beast Peter Gruber among his fellow high-fliers...

Next up for the Poker Brat? No, not the $10k Championship events on the WSOP schedule, but rather another adventure, this time to the Galapagos Islands, famed for sparking Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theories!

If big Phil makes it back for the Main Event this year, we can only wonder at his Grand Entrance plans – perhaps some baller version of the last of the Incan emperors, Atahualpa?
