Susan Faber Wins WSOP SALUTE TO WARRIORS for $121,161

The first female bracelet winner in a non-ladies only tournament has stepped forward as Susan Faber topped the field in Event #71: $500 SALUTE TO WARRIORS for $121,161.

By: Charles Rettmuller

Faber outlasted 1,723 entries who were vying for $723,660 in total prize money. The North Carolina native had $55K in live tournament winnings before becoming the newest gold bracelet winner.

"This was definitely on my bucket list," Faber exclaimed to WSOP reporters.

Winning a WSOP title is a likely bucket list item for the entire final table of Event #71, as only two of the nine had live MTT winnings in excess of $100,000 before the event began. One of those players was 6th place finisher Jordan Knackstedt ($21,510).

Following him to the rail was the chip leader to start the final day of action, Taylor Carroll, whose pocket sevens were shot down by Faber's bullets. A retired Air Force veteran, Carroll ($28,897) embodied what the event was about - paying homage to the vets who proudly defend our great country.

A portion of each player's entry fee was donated to veteran organizations.

Landing 4th was Chris Canan ($34,248), his pocket kings trounced when Faber hit a straight on the river. Fifth street was also the demise for Dean Yoon ($53,887), with Faber again responsible for the KO.

That left only Rob Stark, who bowed out in only five hands of heads-up play when Faber's pocket fives held up.

Final Table Results:

1 Susan Faber $121,161
2 Rob Stark $74,785
3 Dean Yoon $53,887
4 Chris Canan $34,248
5 Taylor Carroll $28,897
6 Jordan Knackstedt $21,510
7 Jose Annaloro $16,190
8 Kulwant Singh $12,323
9 Taehyung Kim $9,486
