The drama of previous days was replaced with stone cold poker yesterday at the Rio, Twitter feeds peppered with the good, the bad and the ugly of a day at the tables in the biggest event of the year…

Among those who didn’t make the grade on day 4 were defending champ John Cynn and three former champs Joe Hachem, Scotty Nguyen and Johnny Chan… last year’s $8.8million victor offering up an improvement for next year’s Main Event as he departed…

Ryan Pochedly was the unfortunate bubbleboy, looking good with top pair top kicker until the river ended his hopes and dreams at the hands of Julian Pineda. Pochedly won’t go away empty-handed, however, with free entry to next year’s Main Event as consolation.

When the bubble burst and the chip counts were in for the day, it was Norway’s Preben Stokkan sitting atop the leaderboard after a single 5k chip to top of the world run. Stokkan is followed closely by Andrew Brokos, Ryan Dodge and Galen Hall, but there’s still a lot of poker between them and the $10million first prize.
