It will be the largest buy-in poker tournament ever and will run from August 1-3 at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane. The record-breaking tournament is part of the Triton Super High Roller Series London that's scheduled for July 31 to August 8.

“We’re very excited about the forthcoming Triton Poker High Roller Series in London and delighted that partypoker LIVE will be joining us for this historic event," said Triton Poker founder Richard Yong. "All those that take part will become a part of poker history as well as helping to raise millions for worthy causes.”

Every player's £50,000 entry fee will be donated to charity. The donated funds are earmarked for deserving UK and Asian-based charitable organizations that include 'Raising for Effective Giving' (REG) and the 'Caring for Children Foundation'.

By Invite Only

The Triton Million isn't open to everyone who can afford the buy-in. The event is by invitation only and the invites are exclusive to wealthy businessmen who are typically regarded as recreational poker players.

The wealthy recs are permitted to invite a guest to participate, and that guest can be a pro player - but doesn't have to be. The first six levels of the Triton Million will pit the recs against the recs while the pros battle each other. In level seven, the two separate fields will be lumped together and play until a winner emerges.

A determination of the category that each entrant belongs to - Recreational Player/Businessman or Guest Player/Professional Poker Player - will be done by committee. A number of high rollers and businessmen have already confirmed their participation.

High stakes pros Jason Koon, Tom Dwan and David Peters will play under a partypoker and Triton Poker co-sponsorship. The field of businessmen includes the likes of Paul Phua, Rick Salomon and Bobby Baldwin.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be invited to play the Triton £1 million tournament," stated Jason Koon, Team partypoker member and Triton Poker ambassador. "Big tournaments have always been my true love when it comes to poker and to get to play the biggest one of all time is a real honour. It’s a surreal moment for me as a poker pro.”

All invited players will receive free accommodation courtesy of Triton Poker. A dress code is in place for the event that forbids wearing sunglasses, hats or hoodies. Final tablists are expected to dress formally.

Watch the Action

Poker fans will have a number of outlets to view the entire tournament such as the Triton Poker website, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, and Chinese TV.

"The Triton Poker High Roller Series offers the world’s most affluent recreational players and top-level pros the chance to compete for very high stakes against incredibly tough competition," Rob Yong added. "Our tournaments really get players’ adrenaline going and now we are about to host the biggest buy-in poker tournament ever held.”

The current record for the biggest poker tournament buy-in ever is the €1,000,000 Big One for One Drop in Monte Carlo in 2016, which translates to $1,121,780 in USD at the current exchange rate. The £1,050,000 buy-in of the Triton Million equals $1,313,764 at the moment.
