Keith Tilston Scoops $100k High Roller Gold And $2,792,406

Keith Tilston took down the $100k High Roller last night, winning his first bracelet and $2,792,406 – denying Daniel Negreanu his 7th WSOP gold after a remarkable fightback from KidPoker…

The final six who returned yesterday were a who’s who of highstakes poker, fifteen bracelets between them and two players – Adams and Schulman – seeking their second of this summer’s series.

Negreanu came in as the short stack but over the course of the session he would double through everyone bar Tilston.

In the meantime, Igor Kurganov was responsible for the exit of both Nitsche and Adams, in consecutive hands, before he himself fell to Tilston in 4th.

Nick Schulman departed in 3rd after a double blow from Negreanu, leaving KidPoker and Tilston to fight it out for the gold bracelet – and a $1million gap between 1st and 2nd.

Texan pro Tilston may not be as instantly recognisable as some of his peers, but his record is impressive enough, US Poker Open and WPT High Roller wins to his credit.

The to-and-fro ended when Negreanu took a big hit and then watched on as Tilston hit the river to end his dreams of bracelet number seven.

Afterwards Tilston told WSOP reporters: "It feels great to win one against this type of field… It was kind of surreal to be playing heads-up against Daniel. Any other time I would be rooting for him”.

Final results:

1 Keith Tilston $2,792,406
2 Daniel Negreanu $1,725,838
3 Nick Schulman $1,187,802
4 Igor Kurganov $840,183
5 Brandon Adams $611,258
6 Dominik Nitsche $457,772
