Denis Strebkov Lands His First WSOP Gold In $3k H.O.R.S.E.

Russian pro Denis Strebkov added a first WSOP gold bracelet to his already impressive poker resume by taking down the $3k H.O.R.S.E. title last night at the Rio, his $206,173 payday the biggest of his live tournament career…

Strebkov is well-known online, of course, five WCOOP titles in 2018 under his aDrENalin710 nickname, but this summer he has found a lease of life in the live arena - last night his 3rd final table of the 2019 WSOP.

He was joined by 300 other entries at the start of the mixed game tournament, that number reduced to just nine by yesterday – Strebkov changing his flight home when he made day three, and just as well he did.

Brian Hastings was among those in with a chance at the title, Frenchman Paul Tedeschi the only non-Russian, non-US player to sit among the contenders.

Hastings would eventually take 4th spot, and when Nick Guagenti fell in 3rd it was Strebkov versus Tedeschi for the bracelet – neither player owning WSOP jewellery and so all to play for.

By now Strebkovs rail had Andrey Zaichenko in it, his countryman and friend out in 5th but willing Strebkov on to the win.

"Andrey told me, 'You have to win!'" Strebkov told WSOP reporters afterwards, and they both got their wish as the Russian finished his French foe off in a Hold’em hand to snag the bracelet.

Final Results:

1 Denis Strebkov $206,173
2 Paul Tedeschi $127,419
3 Nick Guagenti $85,265
4 Brian Hastings $58,359
5 Andrey Zaichenko $40,876
6 Konstantin Puchkov $29,316
7 Jim Collopy $21,540
8 Paul Volpe $16,224
9 Albert Shim $12,535
