Texas Grinder KBPoker78 Takes Down Global Poker GOAT Title

Weekend three of the SC$1million guaranteed Global Poker GOAT Championships was just as busy and exciting as the previous pair, a ton of money on the tables and no shortage of players chasing it…

The SC$218 buy-in GOAT 17-H was this weekend’s Sunday Scrimmage replacement, and with 297 runners it meant the SC$50k guarantee saw a close to SC$10k boost.

First order of the day was to reach the money, a SC$356.40 min. cash for the top 45, with a 5-figure top prize still to fight for when the final table of nine was set.

A couple of familiar names from the Global Poker reg base made it, FUTomBrady managing 6th spot and a SC$2,613.60 payday.

A couple of spots ahead was PrinceAliBaba, a welcome return for Global Poker’s ‘royalty’ and SC$4,900.50 for 4th place.

There wasn’t only the huge cash prizes on the line as three-handed play got underway – the no-small matter of two Tournament of Champions spots also to be decided.

That GOAT series finale tournament, scheduled for Sunday August 25th, boasts a $5k live tournament package up top.

Unfortunately for Georgia’s Mell92 it will have to wait a little longer, falling in 3rd place but with a sweet SC$6,534.00 cash to compensate.

That left the Championship trophy to be fought over by New Jersey’s HiLetsPlay and KB Poker 78, the heads-up battle going the Texan’s way, and a whopping SC$11,464.20 with it. HiLetsPlay won’t be too sad, however, a SC$8,613.00 cash and spot in the ToC to enjoy.

1 KB Poker 78 SC$11,464.20
2 HiLetsPlay  SC$8,613.00

7 Poker12  SC$2,019.60
8 Gratattitude99  SC$1,425.60
9 Jetmax_25  SC$1,069.20

Then other Sunday biggie on Global Poker yesterday was the Teaser replacement, the SC$110 buy-in GOAT 17-M tournament, which topped 300 runners to produce a SC$30,500 prizepool.

With 54 players ITM for at least SC$152.50, all eyes were on that final table and the SC$5,837.70 up top, two Pennsylvanians among the last nine standing.

The Penn state duo of SteelCityKid and Dkoot would be first to bust, however, followed by New York’s R@Inm@N, meaning the remaining six would be hitting four-figure cashes at least.

New Jersey’s Poof9 seems to be making a habit of running deep in the big-money tournaments on Global Poker, and a 4th spot for $2,440.00 was the result of this weekend’s 5-hour Sunday grind.

When Montana’s RambosNephew fell in 3rd, we had a heads-up battle between Ndzphil413 from Philadelphia and Arkansas’ Sicko0416.

Both had secured their Tournament of Champions tickets and the GOAT trophy eventually made its way to Arkansas, Sicko0416’s sick run worth $5,837.70 – his opponent settling for an impressive SC$$4,346.25 runner-up finish.

1 Sicko0416  SC$5,837.70
