TourneyMike Scoops $191,769 in ACR’s OSS Main Event

While Americas Cardroom boss Phil Nagy was outlasting all-comers in the Costa Rica Cage Live event for an epic win, the big Sunday ACR online tournaments were drawing the crowds – the $1million GTD OSS (Online Super Series) Main Event the star attraction…

With a $540 buy-in, the tournament drew 2353 entries – adding $176,500 on top of the guarantee and meaning that 270 players would be in the money – a staggering $191,769 awaiting the winner.

The 100k starting stack would usually mean a 10 hour+ shift, but ACR’s quick structure kept the tournament to a decent length, and by the time they were looking at the 4-hour mark it was final table time.

Guaranteed at least $20k for a top eight finish, the cleverly-named Canadurrrr managed one better – 7th spot and $29,412 to add to the ACR bankroll.
When Dr Rosen Rosen bust out in 4th for $76,707 it meant the remaining three players were staring six-figure paydays in the face.

A short while later, and TourneyMike lifted the daddy of them all when he outlasted SBMA2016 and DILLLY007 to take the title and $191,769.

There was plenty of action at the tables away from the Main Event, the $215 buy-in, $250k GTD Sunday Special seeing 1543 entries and again a big bump up of the prizepool.

IEatFaces can probably afford something a little tastier after taking 12th spot for $2623 and change, while ineedbondmoney sorted out his own bail with a $29,008 3rd spot cash.

That left felixingenium and WarmNutella to battle it out for top honours, and when the former prevailed it was a $51,690 payday to go with the OSS trophy…

It’s not all about huge buy-ins on ACR of course – but the masses of recs and regs descending upon the $22 buy-in event 89 on the OSS series schedule were still looking at big prizes.

The $100k guarantee was exceeded by some $18k or so, and the 5908 entries would see 675 players in the money.

Some six and a half hours after setting out, TaxsisStargas was staring at an extra $18,577 in his ACR account, having defeated maybesheWill heads-up – the $13,753 runner-up spot money changing ‘maybe’ to ‘probably’ at least!

The OSS Cub3d series has another week to run, so there’s still time to garb some of those juicy guarantees here.
