Twenty-two entries had produced a £550,000 prizepool for the £25k NLHE tournament, one of ten events being held at Aspers Casino in London as part of the British Poker Open.

Five players had returned for the second and final day’s play, the likes of Stephen Chidwick, Mikita Badziakouski and David Peters all busting out the previous evening.

With only four paid places, the bubble would be one of the longest in living memory - more than three hours of all-ins and double-ups before Bosnian star Ali Imisirovic eventually fell to Reixach, pocket nines holding up against K♥ J♥.

With the money finally reached, Reixach was about to deliver a swift execution to his remaining three opponents, starting with the double KO of Michael Zhang and Elio Fox

Zhang: Q♣ 10♣

Reixach avoided the flush and straight draws that appeared on the flop…

…and suddenly we were heads-up, the Spaniard facing Canada’s Timothy Adams.

It would be all over just one hand in, Reixach finding AK to defeat Adams’ KQ, the trophy his along with £253,000.

“It’s been a tough final day,” Reixach told reporters afterwards, adding: “The bubble lasted four hours or something – it’s probably one of the longest bubbles I ever played".

He continued: “After the bubble burst, I was lucky in a three-way all-in with pocket nines and heads up was just a cooler… and I win!”
