YangGang Takes Down the Sunday Scrimmage as Global Poker’s CPPT Satellites Kick-Off

Yesterdays Global Poker big Sunday grind had a little something extra added to it, the Scrimmage and Teaser tournaments accompanied by the CardPlayer Poker Tour qualifiers – five lucky players scoring live tournament packages.

We’ll start off with the flagship Sunday Scrimmage, the SC$50k guaranteed attracting 255 runners, the SC$218 buy-in putting an extra thousand bucks in the prizepool.

Forty-five players made the money, the SC$306 min. cash a welcome sight, but the real battle took place at the final table, close to $10k up top and a certain PhilipIvey in the mix!

Not the legendary Ivey, of course, but the Florida version did a good impression, making it to 4th place and a SC$4,207.50 payday. He was followed to the rail by Outofbounds, the Michigan reg pocketing a sweet SC$5,610 for the deep run.

That left us heads-up for the Scrimmage title, Kansas’ BlackfyreCrown and Idaho’s YangGang vying for Global Poker glory and it was the latter who landed the big hit to finish things off…

…taking the trophy and the SC$9,843.00 first prize, BlackfyreCrown having to settle for an excellent second place and a cool SC$7,395.00

As with the Scrimmage, by the time they made it to the final table there were some new names in the money, West Virginia’s StarCityAnth for example taking 9th place and SC$487.50.

Six players would leave with 4-figure scores, Chappyfig from Massachusetts grabbing the first of those in 6th place, a SC$1,125 Sunday cash.

The title was decided heads-up between Ohio’s DingMachine and Colorado’s Straight1CMbruh – the former prevailing after a tough battle to take the SC$5,100 top prize, his valiant opponent taking SC$3,750 as runner-up.
