RunTheKarma Scoops First ACR High Five Main Event For $100,531

The High Five series on Americas CardRoom saw RunTheKarma scoop more than $100,000 by taking down the $420k guaranteed Main Event, seeing off TenBillionBigBlinds heads-up for the title…

The guarantee, a play on the 420 theme that makes the High Five such a popular series, was well and truly smashed as 1407 entries appeared for the first of three Main Events on the two-week schedule.

With $591,360 to be shared out between 162 players, that $100k first prize would be 23 hours and 8 minutes away as the runners kicked off the $420 buy-in NLHE tournament.

Players had the traditional 4.20pm courtesy break to look forward to as well, as the chip leaders blazed a trail towards the money, the final table all guaranteed a five-figure cash, JKjkJK43’s 8th place the first of those worth $11,531.

The battle for first was intense, toddynho having to settle for 4th and a tad over $40k, while Blueglacei scored $56,120 for an excellent third place finish.

That left RunTheKarma and TenBillionBigBlinds to fight it out heads-up, the latter perhaps wishing his stack reflected his name. That stack disappeared, however, and it was second place and $73,920 for TenBillionBigBlinds, the victory and $100,531 going to RunTheKarma – the first High Five Main Event champion of the series.

The $5million GTD High Five series will run until next Sunday, and here’s what you can look forward to this week – the schedule is still smokin’!
