    cadillac1944 wins $740K from durrrr

Today, for the first time in a long while, we saw a really long match of uncapped $500/$1000 PLO when cadillac1944 took on durrrr just now.

    Summary of Monday’s action

As usual, Monday did not take the action to any significant heights though there were some players who carded good scores throughout the day. rumprammer, Urindanger and Bttech86 all secured six-figure wins, while bemyguestbud had to see his bankroll reduced by almost $200K. The two Phils, Ivey and Galfond made some quick appearances and both lost about $50 and $60K respectively. jungleman12 won $52K playing $100/$200 PLO, but durrrr was nowhere to be found. Hopefully it will not be another two months before the two of them put in some more hands in the challenge.

New day, but Benefield still loses $234K

It is always nicer to wrote about a player who is winning, but sometimes the main story of the day just gives itself. David Benefield dropping $234K the day after he lost more than $600K is one of those stories. There are very few people in the world who will ever experience losing more than $600K in poker in one day, so I guess there are no ‘typical’ reaction to such an event. Personally I would think that I would be more likely to be found drunk in a gutter somewhere rather than sitting down at a poker table again. But maybe that is why I am sitting here writing these reports.

David Benefield loses $608K on a bad Saturday

Do you ever have days where you wish you had stayed in bed? I am sure this was something David Benefield was thinking at times yesterday when he saw one pot after another being pushed in the direction of his opponents. He lost $386K playing $500/$1000 PLO against Patrik Antonius and close to $240K against various opponents in the $200/$400 PLO Cap game.

    Durrrr challenge resumes!

It has been a long time coming, but yesterday Tom ’durrrr’ Dwan and Daniel ’jungleman12’ Cates finally resumed their challenge. They played a total of 2120 hands and at the end of the day durrrr had reduced his deficit by almost $13K which means that junglman12 now leads by $646K after 9783 hands. They still have a long way to go, but I am sure that durrrr would have liked to get a bit closer by now.

Final table set at EPT Barcelona - Giuseppe Pantaleo still in the lead

Giuseppe Pantaleo finished day 4 at the EPT Barcelona Main Event like he started it - as a chip leader. The German will start today the final table with almost 5,7 million in chips.

    DrugsOrMe wins $300K from Hansen

Gus Hansen had bit of an ugly setback yesterday, ruining some of the nice work he has been doing as of late with a $429K loss in the $500/$1000 PLO Cap game. As the header indicates, his main nemesis was DrugsOrMe, but Urindanger did also get his licks in by winning $124K. He managed to win back a relatively paltry $15K in the $200/$400 game, but I am not sure that gave him much comfort. In other news, IhateJuice finally had a winning session against Patrik Antonius when he won $123K in 862 hands. Nice for him, obviously, but time will tell if it is an aberration or not.

EPT Barcelona down to final 24 players - Giuseppe Pantaleo leads

With just 24 players left at EPT Barcelona Main Event, the tournament is moving into its final stages. Almost all the big names have fallen, only Kristoffer "Sumpas" Thorsson is still alive.

Antonius runs over IhateJuice once more

Some people never learn their lesson, and IhateJuice certainly seem to be one of these people. Yesterday he took on Patrik Antonius once more in the $2K/$4K Fixed limit game and once again he got beat. In 1719 hands, Antonius won $113K which means that Antonius is now up close to one million dollars in this duel since it started on November 19th. It is worth noting that Antonius has hardly played any other games in this period, so he is probably very happy to have found his own, personal prügelknabe.

Kristoffer “Sumpas” Thorsson doing good at EPT Barcelona

EPT Barcelona Main Event (buy-in €5,300) attracted a total of 758 players this year. After Day 2, 112 players will continue to compete for the €825,000 first prize.

    luckexpress10 wins a quarter million

Marcelo Marigliano aka ‘luckexpress10’ has been quite active lately, and though the results have been varied he does not seem to be overwhelmed in any way by the stiff opposition at these levels. These days he plays almost exclusively heads-up PLO which, most of you will remember, was also the game that put him over the top in the live challenge against Tom Dwan a while back. Yesterday he won $153K from harrington25 playing $300/$600 and $89K from DrugsOrMe in the $200/$400 game, so it will be interesting to see where his results go from here. Having spent most of the year in the red figures, maybe he will be able to climb back into the black with a year-end push.

    Antonius continues to dominate IHateJuice

It is said that the definition of stupidity is to make the same action and expect a different result. Although it might not be accurate for poker, it seems to me that IhateJuice should find another opponent to satisfy his fixed limit cravings. Yesterday he played another 1257 hands of $2K/$4K against Patrik Antonius and lost $505K, so I think it is safe to say that IhateJuice should work in his game selection skills before doing anything else.

Hansen finishes the weekend up $281K

Gus Hansen continues his march back towards the black numbers for the year, and yesterday he did so by winning $281K in the $200/$400 and $500/$1000 PLO Cap games. In the latter game he played 231 hands against DrugsOrMe and ended the session with a $183K win. In other news, Patrik Antonius continued his fixed limit match against IhateJuice. In 225 hands he managed to win $113K, so his domination of this duel seems to continue.
