CrownUpGuy is the PokerStars moniker for German high stakes pro and tournament phenom Fedor Holz.
Although Holz can be occasionally found playing in the high stake online NLHE games at PokerStars, he is primarily known for his extraordinary success as an MTT player both live and online.
Although his first recorded live cash dates back to 2012 at the €500 No Limit Hold'em GPT II Deepstack Series Main Event in Rozvadov where he finished 2nd for €15,320, Holz first came to prominence to a wider poker audience when he shipped the PokerStars WCOOP Main Event for $1.3m in September 2014. Holz went on to become the highest ranked online MTT player in 2014 and 2015 by poketfives.
Holz started to gain a reputation as a live tournament player through 2015 when he made a series of six-figure scores after placing highly in a number of high roller events, and enjoyed some deep runs in big WSOP events, including 25th place in the 2015 Main Event. He cemented his breakout year as a live pro winning the $100k Alpha 8 tourney at the WPT Five Diamond Classic in December 2015 for nearly $1.6m.
Fedor went on to win an astonishing $16.5m in live tourney cashes in 2016 including winning the $200k WPT Triton Super High Roller in the Phillipines in January for $3.46m, the WSOP $111,111 One Drop bracelet in July for $4.98m, and cashing for $3.5m for his second place finish in June's $300k buy-in Super High Roller Bowl.
Other notable scores in 2016 include back-to-back-to-back wins in Aria High Roller events in consecutive weeks in May for over $1.3m and winning the €50k Super High Roller at EPT Barcelone in August for nerly $1.45m - and this came after he had announced his retirement as a "full time poker player"!
