Italian pro Mustapha "lasagnaaammm" Kanit has enjoyed quite the career so far racking up over $13,000,000 in combined online and live tournament cashes before his 26th birthday.
Kanit was born in Alessandria and began playing poker as a teenager participating in live tournaments at private clubs, His first recorded live cashes came from €200 and €300 buy-in tournaments in his homeland back in 2009, not long after his 18th birthday.
Although he has been known to dabble in high stakes cash games both live and online it is on the high stakes tournament circuit that Kanit has made his name both for his outgoing personality, and more importantly for his undeniable table prowess.
Online, Kanit has won some of the biggest titles around. Having previous won a $2.1k SCOOP event for $377k in 2014, he went on to win 2015's SCOOP Main Event for $1.3m. The same year he also won the FTOPS Main Event for $239k and year he added PokerStars Sunday Million to his impressive list of major titles, winning $177k - just one week after taking down Stars Sunday Supersonic for $48k! In total Kanit has over $4.5m in online tourney cashes to his name.
His live tourney resume is, if anything, even more impressive as he has cashed for over $8.64m as of 25th January 2017. This includes seven-figure scores for winning 2015's €50k Super High Roller at the EPT Grand Final in Monaco for $1,048,243 and placing second in the €100k version at the same event in 2016 for $1,653,491. In between these two million buck scores he came close to another, taking down the €10k High Roller at EPT Barcelona in August 2015 for $834,303.
Kanit left his native Italy after the online market segregated, initially living in Malta. After tiring of island life he moved to London, and is currently plying his trade online in Vienna, and around the globe on the live circuit.
The 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series kicked off in Manila yesterday with the HK$250,000 (~32,000 in USD) buy-in 6-Max NLHE Event, which played down to a winner today February 18, 2017
